Talbot Rice Gallery
The Talbot Rice Gallery is one of Scotland’s leading public galleries of contemporary visual art.

Opened in 1975, Talbot Rice can be found in the corner of the University of Edinburgh's Old College, in the heart of the City of Edinburgh.
An outstanding centre for art and ideas, Talbot Rice Gallery presents original and relevant exhibitions within a unique historical context.
Exhibitions
Talbot Rice c
omprises two distinct gallery spaces; a contemporary white cube space and a historic Georgian gallery.
Working with both international and local artists Talbot Rice hosts three to four exhibitions per year, as well as running a unique Artist in Residence programme.
Recent solo exhibitions have showcased the work of Céline Condorelli, Samson Young, Lucy Skaer and John Akomfrah. Ambitious group exhibitions have explored themes including; female self-empowerment, the ‘new normal’ resulting from the pandemic, and borders in the time of Brexit.
The exhibition programme is complemented by a lively and informative events programme, opening up the work of the Gallery to diverse audiences.

The Gallery is situated within the University in the Old College building on South Bridge.
Enter the Old College Quadrangle from South Bridge and the entrance to the Talbot Rice Gallery is at the far left corner of the quad.
