INTRODUCTION
Green School Foundation is a registered not-for-profit organization created to
bring sustainability-focused educational opportunities to local children. Our
work began in 2008 through the Local Scholarship Program at Green School Bali,
where we have provided over 70 Balinese students access to a progressive,
international preK-12 education centered on sustainability and environmental
action.
Today our organization continues to expand the scope and scale of learning
opportunities for Indonesian learners. Green School Foundation supports
sustainability-focused education, works directly with local schools and
students, and collaborates with local government.
OUR PROGRAMS
The Green School Foundation is committed to responding to climate crises, looking at
the broader issues, and reaching collaborative solutions through education. We will
expand our ability to provide even more educational opportunities to local learners.
Environmental School
Project
Young people living in Indonesia are among those at high risk of the
impacts of climate change, threatening their health, education, and protection,
according to a global UNICEF report.
Agricultural University Scholarship
The upcoming problem of an aging farmer population worldwide is most
certainly concerning in terms of ensuring successful and efficient food production in
the future.
AS FEATURED IN
We nurture a future generation of local changemakers by immersing them in a progressive,
holistic, and sustainability-focused educational experience.
CONTRIBUTION TO
Sustainable Development Goals
Though we are mindful of all 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), our Foundation
focuses on five that explicitly reference the elements central to our intervention.
Green School Foundation’s impact aims to take steps in supporting the following
SDGs:
4: Quality of Education
Our mission is to support socio-economically disadvantaged students through undergraduate
university scholarships particularly for children of farmers. In addition, we facilitate
sustainability school workshops alongside Green School to provide these students with a
quality education in environmental sustainability.
11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
By supporting the local community through education, we give them knowledge and practical
awareness about environmental issues, and empower them to take personal responsibility
for change. Change happens when younger generations lead their communities in solving
problems together.
12: Responsible Consumption and Production
Green School Foundation supports regenerative agriculture. Through providing education
and training to aspiring young farmers, we can conserve and restore farming land in
Indonesia and create food security and sustainability for the long term.
13. Climate Action
Indonesia is one of the countries most at risk from climate change due to sea level rise,
extreme weather and heat, and ecosystem loss. Both Green School Foundation programs
create opportunities for locally-inspired action to take place and solutions to be
generated and, potentially, even scaled globally.
17. Partnerships for The Goals
We actively build inclusive partnerships with local communities, global networks, educational institutions, and changemakers, believing that real progress happens when knowledge, resources, and ideas are shared freely. Through these connections, we co-create solutions, support youth-driven initiatives, and amplify access to sustainability education. Our open and collaborative spirit ensures that every effort we make is strengthened by collective wisdom and united action.
Join us in supporting the next generation to be the local
changemakers today!
