Join the Challenge to Support Heart Health in Moscow
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in Latah County, with a rate of coronary heart disease prevalence above the Idaho state average.
Phyllis Vettrus recognizes this issue and wants to strengthen our Latah County Community through a
philanthropic gift to support Gritman Medical Center’s cardiology services
. Vettrus, a retired educator and longtime resident of Moscow, through the Dean L. Vettrus and Phyllis J. Vettrus Living Trust, recently donated $100,000 to the Gritman Foundation, allowing the organization to upgrade 2 of its EKG machines while replacing Cardiac Rehabilitation monitoring equipment that supports multiple patients simultaneously.
She is challenging the greater community to come together and match her gift, enabling Gritman to further invest in heart health services. We are so grateful to Vettrus for her generosity. A Generous Gift: Schweitzers Support Downtown Medical Building Buildout
Beatriz and Ed Schweitzer plant the seeds of philanthropy with Gritman Foundation leadership donation.
Mrs. Beatriz and Dr. Edmund O. Schweitzer III are known for opening their hearts and nurturing friends, family, neighbors and the many communities in our region.
Gritman Medical Center is grateful to be the recipient of such generosity, most recently with a groundbreaking leadership gift of $750,000 from the Schweitzers to help a major transformation of clinical spaces take root at the hospital’s downtown campus.
