Intellectual challenge is at the heart of a Beacon education. We take this very seriously, but we are also very practical about it. Our 10 bachelor’s degree programs are intended to prepare our students to find worthy work in today’s global marketplace. Additionally, we encourage students to explore their diverse interests through one or more of our 17 minors.

Daily physical activity isn’t just good for the body; it helps sharpen the mind too. It is especially critical for college students to engage in physical activity to help maintain balance and well-being. Our Fitness and Recreation team offers a wide range of possibilities.

You’re invited to play! Our no-cost intramural sports program is a fun way to interact with other students, faculty, and staff while blowing off some steam.

Personal Training
Personal training can be a great way to get started for those who are too shy to work with a group. It can also be a way to focus steadily on personal fitness goals, whether they are centered on losing weight, gaining muscle mass, or increasing flexibility.
Beacon provides free personal fitness and strength training to students, regardless of fitness level. Our trainers are certified through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). Appointments are available five days per week.
Group Classes
Sometimes, it’s just more fun to play with other people. We offer daily group classes that will get your mind off your studies and your body into motion. From beginner stretch classes to Zumba and weight training to yoga, our fitness center offers a wide range of group classes.
Outdoor Adventures
There’s no better combination than exercise and the great outdoors. The Fitness and Rec team coordinates weekend adventures that bring together students, faculty, and staff. It’s a great way to interact informally, get the exercise you need, and explore new skills.
New Intramural and Fitness Center
As part of the $14.5
Beacon Promise Capital Campaign
, the construction of an $11 million, 28,000-square-foot Intramural and Fitness Center is critical to enhancing our students’ physical wellness and quality of life. While physical activity is important for all, it is especially important for Beacon College’s neurodivergent student population.
For students with learning differences, participation in fitness routines and exercise in group sports is critical for fostering and promoting self-confidence, focus, mental health, discipline, and social development.
