To develop a truly versatile education, Wasatch Academy’s philosophy engages multiple styles of learning, both inside and out of the classroom. We promote a dynamic blend of individualized and group learning to support students in cultivating academic and personal growth — inspiring a sense of self-empowerment at school and in each facet of their lives.
We prioritize helping every student reach their highest potential through an in-depth study of topics and a thorough exploration of the intersection between ideas and disciplines.
Along their journey, students master core academic content, make perceptive observations of their individual learning style, and develop personal ownership for their education.

Experiential Learning
Experiential learning is dedicated to bridging the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world experiences. Students combine their classroom education with outdoor adventures, community service, international trips, sustainability initiatives, and other unique opportunities to create a broad assembly of learning techniques. Teachers link course content with real-time events to help students contribute to a better world through hands-on, authentic learning.
Immersions encourage students to explore beyond their comfort zones and experience intensive learning outside the classroom. At least two Immersions are offered each month and every student will participate in at least one each year.
Immersions are 3-5 experiences providing students with opportunities to learn outside of a traditional classroom setting. Engaging in interdisciplinary and project-based experiential learning, our students build valuable life skills and enhance their classroom environment with field trips, guest speakers, and hands-on activities. Our students investigate new areas of interest while learning within small communities of peers with diverse academic passions and faculty from different departments.
Whether it’s gardening, the performing arts, Utah ghost towns, or the cultures of Brazil, students engage with a broad range of unique topics and projects through Immersions.
