Am I good enough to go to university?
Simply put, yes. There is a university for everyone and even if you don’t get the grades you need, you can go through the clearing process to explore alternatives or even new options. At Swansea, our Admissions team are on hand to answer any questions you might have, we also offer foundation courses as well as academic support for when you join.

What if I don’t get my grades?
Don’t panic - you are not alone. Clearing is a great way to speak to either your chosen university and explore the options there or you can speak to other universities who may have places on the course you want to study. At Swansea we can be flexible around certain offers.

I've accepted an offer elsewhere but want to study at Swansea
You can use the
Self-Release
option via UCAS Hub (by declining your offer) if you have accepted a place at another University but have decided you want to come to Swansea.
However, do make this decision carefully as you may lose your place at your original university if you decide you’ve made a mistake.

Can I afford to go to university?
One of the biggest concerns can be the cost of going to university, most UK students will pay for their tuition fees and living expenses by applying for financial support through the relevant Student Finance websites. Don't forget you may also be entitled to a scholarship or bursary - at Swansea University you could receive up to £3,000! Additionally, there are lots of student jobs available on campus that will fit in with your timetable, plus employability support.

Of course! We will be holding a number of Clearing Open Days between
15 - 18 August
, where you can visit us and discover life as a Swansea University student.
There will be opportunities for you to tour the campus and talk to members of staff in your chosen subject faculty.
