After School Activities
Evenings & Weekends
When the studying is done, Scattergood students spend their downtime in many different ways. The campus farm, pond, prairie, and disc golf course offer a wealth of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. The student lounge and music room are always open for foosball, board games, jam sessions, and just hanging out. The campus art studios and kitchen may be used by students with prior permission.
Clubs arise based on the interests of community members and generally meet in the evenings or on weekends. Anyone can start and join a club, it’s a great way to share and explore interests with other community members. Recent clubs have included ping-pong, D&D, and Magic the Gathering.
Town Trip
Each Saturday, students have the option to go on Town Trip and spend the afternoon in nearby Iowa City. This is a great opportunity to get off campus and explore the area, visit the library, check out museums, and so much more.
Learn more about the Iowa City area.
Saturday Night Activity
SNA is one of the few required activities on the weekend and offers a wide variety of performances, guests, and games to fill the evening. Some examples include:
Class anthology/poetry reading
Student musical recital
Live band performance
Guest speaker
Capture the Flag
