The Department of Interior Design had the privilege of hosting renowned bamboo expert and manufacturer, Dr Khalid Mehmood Burj for an engaging and informative session on bamboo and its locally cultivated varieties in Lahore.
The session offered students a comprehensive understanding of bamboo as a sustainable material, highlighting its versatility, strength, and potential applications in modern design.
Dr Khalid Mehmood Burj shared his practical expertise, giving students valuable insights into the cultivation, processing, and use of bamboo in various design contexts.
Dr. Faryal Abdullah, Incharge of the Interior Design Department, also contributed to the discussion by sharing her perspective on integrating bamboo into contemporary interior design practices.
The event was further honored by the presence of Mr. Aun Shah, who briefly joined the session, and Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zaib-un-nisa Hussain, who marked the occasion by planting bamboo on campus as a symbol of sustainability and environmental responsibility.
