German Naval Signals HQ
German Naval Signals HQ
The headquarters for the German Naval Commander of the Channel Islands during the Second World War. All the important radio signals traffic for the German Forces in the Channel Islands was handled here. The site is highly recommended for anyone with an interest in technology or history of the Second World War in particular.
2026 Season Opening Times:
The site will reopen 25th March until 1st November 2026, from 10:30 - 15:00 every day.
This includes all Bank Holidays.

£5.00
- Adults
£1.50
- Children (age 7-17 years) & students (with valid student card)
FREE
- Children under 7 years

per named adult
for 12 months
unlimited access
during normal seasonal opening hours to
ALL FOUR SITES
with our
Discovery Pass
(<-click for details). All accompanying children then go
FREE

No pets are allowed in the German Naval Signals HQ - please see the
Access
section below for information on Assistance Dogs.
Finding Us & Access
German Naval Signals HQ
is situated in St Jacques, St Peter Port, GY1 1SN. It is next door to
La Collinette Hotel.
This site is a restoration of the
original bunker
, as such it is below ground with a narrow entry and steps. It is
not wheelchair accessible
.
Please note: there are
no toilets or cafe
at the German Signals HQ (but these are both available at Guernsey Museum at Candie, which is only a short walk away).
Parking
is not available on site but nearby at Beau Sejour Leisure Centre or on road near Candie Gardens.

Assistance dogs are welcome at the Signals but we do not accept other pets. We ask that assistance dogs wear the appropriate tabards or harness, so our staff know that they are working animals. If you are in any doubt about bringing your assistance dog, please contact us for more information on

DID YOU KNOW?
This underground network of rooms was restored by members of the Channel Islands Occupation Society and many of the original internal fittings have been retained. These include the ventilation pumps, heating boiler and toilets (non-functioning). The rooms have been re-fitted and equipped to as near original condition as possible, based on detailed information supplied by the former Naval Signals Officer and other German personnel.
