The University Librarian
Professor Fredrick Olatunji Ajegbomogun currently serves as the University Librarian at
Joseph Ayo Babalola University
(JABU). He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this role, having previously held the position of substantive University Librarian at Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), where he began his tenure on October 1, 2019.
Professor Ajegbomogun completed his secondary education at Ayetoro/Iloro High School in Ayetoro-Ekiti and pursued higher education at the esteemed University of Ibadan. His academic qualifications include a Diploma in Librarianship, a Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education and Political Science, a Master’s degree in Political Science and International Relations, a Master of Library Science (MLS), and a PhD in Library, Archival, and Information Science.
With a robust background in librarianship, Professor Ajegbomogun commenced his career as a Library Officer at the University of Ibadan. He later advanced to the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), where he progressed from Librarian II to Associate Librarian (Deputy University Librarian).

His sabbatical at Tai Solarin University of Education further enriched his professional journey. As an accomplished academic in Library Studies, Professor Ajegbomogun has taught and supervised numerous postgraduate students. His research interests include library information resource utilisation, information literacy, informatics, and the integration of information technology in library services.
A proactive leader, he has served as the PG Programme Coordinator at FUNAAB and is an active member of various university committees. Professor Ajegbomogun has participated in over twenty training sessions related to library studies both domestically and internationally, presenting impactful research papers at significant conferences such as the Shanghai International Library Forum and the IFLA General Conference.
He is affiliated with professional organisations including the Nigeria Library Association (NLA) and the Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN). Throughout his career, he has received numerous accolades for his contributions to librarianship.
Hailing from Ayetoro-Ekiti in Ekiti State, Professor Ajegbomogun has published more than thirty-five research articles in reputable journals. Outside of his professional commitments, he enjoys farming, reading, singing, and travelling. He is happily married with children.
