Curriculum Pathways
What are the Sixth Form pathways?
The Discover Pathway
Independence and Progression
The cohort whose strengths lie predominantly within the practical side of our offer will be following this pathway designed to maximise these skills. They will continue to study Maths and English if they have not achieved a GCSE at Grade 4 or equivalent L2 qualification and will also choose 2 Options which will lead to qualifications.
The Endeavour Pathway
Further/Higher Education –
This group of students will be pursuing a more broadly academic based curriculum with a view to accessing an additional academic setting post St Dominic’s. They will have the opportunity to study a limited range of subjects at A-Level alongside BTEC qualifications and additional GCSEs. There will also be the opportunity to re-sit core GCSEs in English, Maths and Science should this be necessary.
The Innovate Pathway
World of Work
Our Year 14 students will be encouraged to follow our World of Work pathway, which utilises the services of Surrey Choices to introduce them to a Supported Internship and a three-day per week work placement. This runs alongside 2 days per week within school to enhance their academic qualifications. It will also include access to the Needs Led and Independence and Employability curriculum.
