OUR MISSION
Preserving the Story of Greater Haverhill
The
Mission
of the Buttonwoods Museum / Haverhill Historical Society is to collect and preserve history, and to educate the community about Greater Haverhill’s past and culture.
The Buttonwoods
envisions
a Greater Haverhill community that recognizes how history impacts our lives now and in the future. The Museum offers historical perspective on contemporary issues affecting Haverhill today and hopes to educate the community on the sense of meaning history can provide.
We take inspiration from the Buttonwood trees on the hillside and the Merrimack River. Like the trees and the river we are rooted by the past and charting our future.
