Parking & Transportation FAQS
Is parking free on WashU Danforth Campus?
Parking is not free on the Danforth campus. All parkers on campus must either have a valid parking permit or pay visitor parking when commuting to campus. We have open park operations on campus Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. until 7 a.m. and all day Saturday and Sunday. Parkers can park on campus for free during open park in visitor and unmarked parking spaces.
Where can I purchase a parking permit?
Danforth WashU Community members can purchase their parking permits online at our WashU parking portal
here.
How do I display my parking permit?
Permits must be properly displayed on your vehicle. Hang your hangtag permit from your rearview mirror with no other items disrupting the view of the permit.
Affix sticker permits to the lower passenger side of the vehicle windshield. It must be visible, with no other items disrupting the view of the permit.
How does my parking permit work in a garage?
For parking in RFID-enabled garages, including East End, Danforth University Center, Millbrook and Snow Way, the garage system will read your parking permit and open the gate. In Wallace and Shepley, there is no gate, and the permit must be clearly displayed when parking there.
