University Housing & Residential Life
CSULB's housing will be your home away from home. You'll have the opportunity to learn and grow from peers, staff and faculty outside of the classroom setting.
CSULB's housing options offer students a convenient and supportive living environment. On-campus housing provides students with a sense of community and the opportunity to get involved in campus life. Living on campus can also help students feel more connected to the university and make it easier to access academic and other resources.

In Sept. 2025 the Long Beach Planning Commission approved the construction of a residential development aimed to house students in the greater Long Beach area. This development is not affiliated with the CSULB campus, and the university does not oversee or collaborate on the construction or leasing of these units.
Housing and Residential Life creates safe, welcoming, and inclusive communities that engage a diverse student population in their personal and social development while promoting academic success and responsible citizenship through high quality services and initiatives.

Living on-campus empowers our students to become more inclusive, responsible, mindful, and engaged community members, embracing their authentic selves at CSULB and beyond.
The Beach Journey residential curriculum is an intentional approach to ensuring that learning takes place everywhere, not just in the classroom launched in Fall 2019. Students who to choose to live on campus and become a member of the Housing and Residential Life community will have the opportunity to engage in various strategies that enhance the development and growth of our residents and CSULB community.
Through their Beach Journey living in the halls, residents will develop in the following areas:
Being and Belonging
Essential Life Skills
Academic Engagement
Cultural Competency
Holistic Wellness
