HEERF Disbursements
Congress allotted funds to the Education Stabilization Fund of the Office of Postsecondary Education as the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund, or HEERF. The first HEERF funds were provided through the  Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES) and the HEERF II funds via the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSAA).HEERF III funds are allocated through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARP).The purpose it so provide economic aid to students negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
