Established in 1997 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh with the
support of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala, Dravidian University
is dedicated to the integrated development of Dravidian languages,
literature, culture, folklore, history and tribal studies. Located
at the tri-junction of three states, it serves as a beacon of
higher education in this region.

About
School of Human and Social Sciences aim s at conducting Research and Teaching in the intersecting areas from Linguistics, Hisotry, Archaeology, Folklore, Tribal Studies, Social works of Our Indian Societies. The school of Human and Social Sciences is one among the Schools established at the very initial Stage of this University. The School comprises Department of Folklore and Tribal Studies, Department of Computational Linguistics, and Department of History, Archaeology and Culture. The Departments are offering UG, PG, and Research Programs including B.A. [(Hons) History], M.A. Folklore, Tribal Studies and Cultural Tourism, Master of Social Work, M. A. Linguistics.
Vision
The School of Human and Social Sciences is established to conduct advanced studies and Research on Dravidian Land, Language, History, and Culture.
Dravidian Folk-culture, Dravidian Linguistics are two important component areas of Documentation and Research held in this school.

Mission
The School offers UG, PG, and Research courses through the Departments related to History, Folklore, Culture, Linguistics and Social work relating to Tribal and Rural Communities.
The Advanced Research comprises comparative studies of Dravidian components with other cultural communities.
The Departments are not only function as Teaching and Research but also works as networking centre for various Instituitions working on working any related disciplines in India and abroad.
