Parent-Teacher Organization
At Thomas Heyward Academy, the
Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO)
plays a vital role in supporting our teachers, students, and school. We believe that when families and educators work together, students thrive. Our efforts help fund teacher recertification, holiday bonuses, and birthday gifts, ensuring our educators feel valued and supported. We also assist with important school events like Open House and Grandparents’ Day and contribute to school improvement projects that enhance the educational experience. Through teamwork and dedication, we create a welcoming and enriching experience for every student and family.
PTO Events:
February: Valentines King and Queen Contest
March/April: Breakfast with the Easter Bunny
April: Senior Tea
May: Teacher Appreciation Week
December: Breakfast with Santa
In lieu of our annual fall fundraiser, we now charge a yearly fee of $50.00 per family.
Recent PTO Projects:
Touch free water bottle stations
Replacement of gym speaker system
Providing flowers for the beautification of school grounds
Upcoming PTO Projects:
Replacement of school intercom system

Parker's Fueling the Community
Parker's donates .01 from every gallon of gas purchased at all of their stores the first Wednesday of each month to area schools.
1. You can signup for Parker's PumpPal card online and select Thomas Heyward (school code 8900) as your .01 per gallon donation.
2. Existing members can access your PumpPal account online here and select THA.
