About our Immunology Pathology service
We help people whose immune systems are not working as they should, which results in allergies, asthma, autoimmune disorders and more.
Our laboratories are staffed with highly skilled teams of clinicians, scientists and technicians.
Our tests diagnose disorders of the immune system such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and coeliac disease.
Service overview
Immunopathology focuses on immune responses associated with disease. It combines laboratory medicine and clinical practice to diagnose and treat a range of immune-related conditions.
Antibody production is crucial for combatting infections, but imbalances can lead to autoimmune diseases or immunodeficiency, where the immune system fails to respond effectively.
Our areas of specialty include:
allergy testing
autoimmune serology
specialised immunochemistry
immunogenetics
infection immunology
flow cytometry.
Immunopathology assays require significant interpretation, and many are labour intensive and not suited to automation. Our experienced and highly trained scientific staff are committed to providing timely, high quality results for our patients and clinicians.
