The Office of Institutional Advancement establishes long-lasting community relationships,
enhances the image of the college, promotes educational opportunities at COM and builds
financial resources to support our students and programs. It accomplishes its mission
through partnerships and the philanthropy of alumni, friends, corporations and faculty
and staff.
Working closely with College of the Mainland Foundation, composed of community and
business leaders, the advancement team secures gifts and grants for areas where state
funding is not available.
The IA office includes the following areas:
COM Foundation
— Secures private support from individuals, corporations, and alumni for direct support
for students and to further the college mission, vision and goals.
Grant Development
— Assists faculty and staff in developing competitive grant proposals to provide
external resources for college initiatives.
