First of all we apologize to all our readers for the long delay in updating our website and posting a few News items. In the last 4 months a lot of events have happened and Kishor Nagar has been very much alive.
Academic Field
The Annual Matriculation Examination, conducted by the Jharkhand Academic Council, was held in February – March 2015. 47 of our boys appeared in the exams and all of them passed. 42 passed in first division and 5 in second division. Now most of them are trying to get admission in Plus Two courses or in the Technical stream (ITI or Polytechnic institutions). Unfortunately the Selection Tests for admission to technical courses have been postponed and this puts many students before a dilemma: admission to the Plus two courses may be closed before the selection process for admission to Technical courses is completed and there is no assurance that they will be selected. It might be wise to take admission in plus two courses now, even though they may opt for the technical stream if selected and drop the plus courses.
Our boys have done very well in the Inter-Jesuit Schools Competition in Declamation and Singing at two levels: High School students and Plus two students. In the Declamation competition in English our boys stood (Raju Toppo and Krishna Gope) stood first while in the Hindi Speech our boys took the third places.
Annual Admission
In the beginning of March (on 1st, 2nd and 3rd) from early morning a large number of guardians along with their child arrived in Kishor Nagar for filling up the application form. In three days 910 forms were filled up and all these candidates with their guardians faced a short interview. Two weeks later the list of selected candidates was published and on account of lack of vacancies only 95 boys found their names on the selected list.
Summer Vacation
On the 15th of May the Summer Holidays started and the large majority of the boys went home, either to their parents or to their guardians. 150 boys stayed back, some of them have no place to go while senior boys stayed back for two weeks to help out in the farm and get the fields ready for paddy cultivation. The classes will resume on the 16 June.
