Albertus Magnus College Offers Four Experiential Summer Camps
Enrichment Opportunities Provide High School Students With Glimpse of Campus Life
New Haven, Conn., March 11, 2025
– As any parent knows, planning for their child’s summer camp starts early. This year,
Albertus Magnus College
offers
four different learning enrichment opportunities
so that rising high school juniors and seniors  (classes of 2026 and 2027) get hands-on
experience in areas that interest them.
“As the most diverse Catholic college in New England, Albertus is excited to once
again offer events that provide access and  opportunity for students as they pursue
their dreams — as well as get a glimpse of our campus” said Vice President for  Enrollment
Management, Brian Fernandes.
Nursing - Tuesday, June 24 from 9am to 3pm; capacity 12 students. (Free).
Dive into the world of healthcare where students gain hands-on experience, learn essential
nursing skills, and earn CPR certifications while discovering a passion for nursing
- where there is a critical need to  fill positions. Interactive sessions are led
by practicing nurses in Albertus’ state-of-the-art simulation labs at the Tagliatela
Academic Center.
Esports - Thursday, June 26 from 9am to 3pm. ($50 admission).
This one-day interactive camp will immerse students into the world of Esports and
Gaming - a growing international industry.  Learn how fun can be turned into a career
opportunity; play in a Rocket League Tournament; and develop skills in live  streaming,
video production, and content creation - all in our award-winning Hubert Campus Center.
Political Science - Monday, June 30 and Tuesday, July 1; from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm;
capacity 20 students. ($100 admission;  $85 for sign up by June 1).
This two-day “Road to the White House” event is designed to help students experience
the various decisions, strategies, and  efforts of contemporary political campaigns
to position a candidate to win elected office. Students develop a political roadmap
— and there’s even an election. Please note that overnight housing is not provided
but there is an early-bird sign-up discount.
College and Career Application Bootcamp - Wednesday, July 9; from 8:30am to 5pm; capacity
20 students. ($50 admission).
Workshops explore college majors and careers to match students’ interests and strengths.
Answer questions like, “What can I  do with this major?” The program also reviews
essential tips on completing the Common Application and outlining an essay.  The day
ends with a parent meeting to review the college financial aid process.
About Albertus Magnus College
Founded in 1925, Albertus is a coeducational Catholic College in the Dominican tradition.
Albertus' values- and liberal arts-based education is recognized by external rankings
such as US News & World Report, Money, and The New York Times, and has been named
a Top 10 Military Friendly School. For ten consecutive years, at least 95% of Albertus
graduates have attained employment or gone on to graduate studies within six months
of completing their degrees. The College has an enrollment of approximately 1,300
students across its traditional undergraduate, accelerated adult undergraduate, and
graduate program levels. Proud to enroll a student body where nearly half of its undergraduate
students receive Federal Pell Grants and are first-generation college goers, Albertus
is known for its innovative curricular offerings, recently launching new Bachelor's
degree programs in Nursing, including BSN and Connecticut's first LPN-to-BSN; General
Health Sciences; Interdisciplinary Studies; and Public Health.
Among its graduate offerings is the State of Connecticut's only Master of Arts in
Art Therapy and Counseling program, and it is just one of three schools to offer a
Master of Science in Human Services. In 2025-26, Albertus is celebrating its historic
100th Anniversary and completing implementation of the Albertus 2025: Lighting the
Way to a Second Century strategic plan, with a bold vision to "be a destination liberal
arts-based college, distinguished in its interdisciplinary and experiential approach
to education, rooted in Dominican values, that prepares students for lifelong civic
engagement and success." To learn more, please visit
