The UNRE Council is the governing body responsible for guiding institutional policy, strengthening accountability, and supporting effective leadership across the university’s teaching, research, and community engagement functions.

The Council plays a central role in ensuring that UNRE operates in line with its mandate as Papua New Guinea’s specialist university in natural resources and environment, with responsibilities in higher education, applied research, innovation, and community service.
