Areas of Focus 8+ Degree Programs Expert Faculty P-12 Licensure Our Areas Explore our four focused areas of study, each designed to prepare dedicated educators for the challenges and rewards of teaching. Child Development Understanding the fundamental stages of human development from infancy through adolescence. Our Child Development program prepares students to work with children in educational settings, daycare centers, and family service organizations. Students learn about cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development while gaining practical experience in child-centered environments. Elementary Education Preparing compassionate and skilled educators for grades K-6. Our Elementary Education program combines theory with hands-on classroom experience, covering curriculum development, classroom management, and diverse learning strategies. Students develop expertise in literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies while learning to create inclusive learning environments. Secondary Education Developing subject-matter experts and effective teachers for grades 7-12. Our Secondary Education program focuses on advanced pedagogical methods, adolescent psychology, and content-specific teaching strategies. Students prepare to teach their chosen subject area while learning to engage and motivate teenage learners in diverse educational settings.
