Welcome to the School of School of Sustainable Development (SSD), one of the two (2) Schools operational at the University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD), Somanya, Eastern Region, Ghana.
SSD is committed to providing comprehensive education to produce highly qualified, competent, and self-assured graduates in the field of sustainable development that embodies the University’s core values of

ntrepreneurship (HOPE). Our mission is to train and equip students with the academic and professional knowledge necessary to meet the demands of the nation and contribute to sustainable development efforts.
The School is deeply committed to fulfilling UESD’s mission and vision through the incorporation of innovative and cutting-edge approaches to research, teaching, and community engagement.
Our undergraduate programmes are carefully designed to equip students with the necessary skills and competencies to meet industry demands and become agents of change in their communities, Ghana, and the world at large.
The programmes on offer are: BSc. Sustainable Development, BSc. Water Resources Development, BSc. Aquaculture Management, BSc. Energy Sustainability, BSc. Environmental Economics and Policy, BSc. Energy and Resource Economics, BSc. Urban Planning and Development, and BSc. Sustainable Construction Management and Technology.
We continuously review and update our curricula to meet the evolving needs of society. The School hopes to introduce BSc. Architecture and Sustainable Development, this academic year- and more programmes in the subsequent years. Thus, we hope that prospective applicants will explore these dynamic and unique programmes.
