History and heritage
Canterbury is a historic city with many tales to tell. As you explore the city, you find yourself surrounded in history. Explore medieval alleyways and cobbled streets, all before you reach our world-famous Canterbury Cathedral - one of our three UNESCO World Heritage Sites and the venue of your graduation!
Above all else, Canterbury's history is one of stories. From Marlowe, to Dickens, to Chaucer, Canterbury has inspired stories that have stood the test of time. Of course, the University of Kent is home to two Nobel Laureates.
What better place to start your journey, and tell your own story? So many great stories start with Canterbury, why shouldn't yours?

A welcoming community
I like Canterbury. You see everyone there – students, locals, tourists – and I like diversity because that’s what I grew up with.
