Kincardine Community Hospital was opened in 1998 to serve the health needs of the local population, operating in partnership with Care UK, a private healthcare provider.
In March 2008 the NHS purchased and took ownership of the inpatient GP Acute ward and outpatient areas within the hospital.  Care UK continue to own and provide a care home facility on the site.
The hospital is supported by GPs from Stonehaven, Laurencekirk, Portlethen, Inverbervie and Auchenblae Medical Practices.
Mowat Court Nursing Home is also situated within the buildings, run by Care UK.

Within the hospital, Arduthie Ward provides 19 inpatient beds for acute admissions, assessment and rehabilitation and palliative care.
All are single-bedded rooms with en-suite facilities.
In addition the ward has a large conservatory for patients to use.
