JMA offers your child a challenging academic environment with teachers who have a sincere interest in helping your child succeed.
JMA is the place where teachers have an intellectual curiosity, and a passion for teaching, nurturing, and serving students. Here, lifelong friendships are formed and your student isn’t a statistic but a part of a family – the John Milledge Academy family.
With a graduation rate that is consistently 100% each year, as well as sending 100% of those graduates to college and/or military service, John Milledge Academy has been producing middle Georgia’s lifelong learners for over 40 years.
A Portrait of our Graduates
Elementary School
Our Elementary School offers a safe, interactive, and nurturing environment for our pre-kindergarten through 5th grade students. Character education, art, physical education, music and Spanish are taught to students as enrichment opportunities, in addition to their regular classroom subjects. Each year, students attend a variety of field trips to further their educational experiences. Students can participate in John Milledge athletic programs, including kiddie camps, Junior Pro football, cheerleading, track, and basketball.
Middle School
The Middle School building houses sixth through eighth grade and offers more opportunities for learning and growth. In conjunction with a strong academic program, students also participate in physical education class and enrichment classes which consist of art, writing, computer literacy, or Spanish. A full athletic program is available to our middle school students. Each year opportunities are also offered for trips to Savannah, Florida and Washington, DC.
High School
The High School has a college preparatory curriculum for all students. Advanced Placement classes are offered in all the major subject areas, as well as honors level classes for advanced students. Dual enrollment is available for juniors and seniors who meet admissions requirements at Georgia College. The last period of the day is reserved for elective classes. Our athletic program keeps many students involved with 16 athletic teams, many of which have won region and state championships. Clubs involve many students through service and leadership.
John Milledge’s High School also partners with China Project Hope to generate opportunities for increased international understanding, tolerance, and global citizenship. Students are placed with host families for a long-term American school experience.

Instructional Support
John Milledge Academy offers Instructional Support (IS) for qualified students from elementary grades through high school.
Students must have current
psychological evaluations in order to be considered for placement in the program.
Once the school receives the results of those evaluations, parents, administration, and teachers will collaboratively develop a plan that details appropriate accommodations, protocols, and placements to best meet the students’ needs.
Each division has a dedicated teacher who meets regularly with IS students and coordinates with the classroom teachers to provide appropriate support for the learners.
All information associated with psychological educational evaluations is kept in a confidential file in the Instructional Support Supervisor’s Office.
