AKMC, K complements and supports the Government of Tajikistan’s efforts to provide quality diagnostic and treatment services. The Medical Centre’s primary catchment population is composed of residents of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast and the Afghanistan-Badakhshan border districts that do not have easy access to Faizabad, the capital of the province of Badakhshan in Afghanistan. Aga Khan Health Service, Tajikistan is working closely with health care workers and government authorities on both sides of the border to ensure that patients within these districts can be referred to AKMC, K for care.
