Indoor Environmental Quality
HCPSS recognizes the importance of providing a healthy learning
environment for all students and staff members. In an effort to identify
and correct conditions that may have an impact on air quality, HCPSS has
established an Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) program that
proactively maintains proper indoor environments and responds to
community members' concerns.
In general, the IEQ program includes the following:
Standardized “IEQ” Walkthroughs
to identify potential items that may impact air quality (moisture intrusion, housekeeping, obstructions to ventilation, etc.).
HVAC Assessments
assist Building Maintenance in identifying equipment/components that may require additional preventative maintenance or corrective action.
Addressing Concerns
believed to be associated with air quality.
Lead in Drinking Water Sampling
to identify the potential for elevated levels of lead in fixtures that are used for consumption.
Well Water Sampling
for various parameters as required by law.
Cooling Tower Sampling
for bacteria.
Water Quality Reports
In compliance with state regulations, HCPSS is testing all schools for
the presence of lead in drinking water. Details on the testing schedule,
procedures, etc., as well as test results and reports for individual
schools can be found on the
HCPSS
website
