In Stevenson’s Middle Division, we understand that early adolescence is a time of profound growth, curiosity, and self-discovery.
We strive to meet students with empathy, high expectations, and meaningful challenge—guiding them as they shape their identity, deepen their thinking, and grow in both independence and compassion. With steady encouragement and mentorship, we nurture their resilience, celebrate their individuality, and support them in becoming the best version of themselves.

Step 4: Schedule your Family Tour, Middle Division Shadow Morning and ISEE Assessment
Family Tour
: Once your child’s application has been submitted, you are invited to tour the beautiful campus and meet with the Director of Admissions. This conversation is a chance for us to get to know your family, learn more about your child, and answer any questions you may have about our unique Middle Division programming and curriculum. The tour and conversation will last about an hour.
Middle Division Shadow Day
: Once your child’s application has been submitted, your child will be invited to experience a morning as a Middle Division student. During a shadow day, they will attend two classes and programming alongside a Middle Division buddy. Shadow days will be held in December, January and February, and you will receive details about scheduling once you have submitted your child’s application.
Assessment
: Students in rising Grades 2 – 8 will be required to take the ERB ISEE Assessment. This is a standardized assessment, created by the Educational Records Bureau, is used by independent schools globally. The ISEE assesses the applicants’ skills in four critical areas: Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Math Achievement. Stevenson offers an on-site assessment date in February.
