Hostels
The University at present has 4 separate hostels for boys and girls. There are 3 boys
hostels with a capacity of 150 each; and one girl’s hostel with 84 seats. The hostel rooms
are spacious, comfortable well furnished and are provided with 24 hours internet facility,
reading room and additional indoor sports facilities.
The hostels are equipped with generators in order to provide 24 hours electricity back up.
A round the clock security is enforced for constant vigilance and surveillance. Hostel Mess is
run under the guidance of the Hostel Wardens. Separate hostels for faculty and staff residence in
lush green environs provide a pleasant and right ambience and atmosphere for intellectual stimulation.
The University hostels have well equipped Medical Centre for preliminary diagnosis. There are two doctors
visiting the centre at specified hours and the students can consult them without any charge.
Gymnasium
Both mental development and physical exercise is necessary for success in life. Exercise is
essential for having a sound mind in a sound body. The University has a well equipped
gymnasium for students and staff residing on the campus. The facility provides an ideal
conducive environment for staff students for a well rounded workout.
Yoga and Meditation is a wonderful gift for all. It can make the life even more beautiful if incorporated
in life at a very young age. Both of them provide a perfect building block for a healthy, joyful, and gratifying
life. From the time immemorial, the knowledge of Yoga and Meditation was imparted to young pupils in India.
Efforts are now being made to do the same in our University as well. Now the time has come when we as
nurturers and caregivers must reach out to the students for reviving this age-old practice. There is a
dire need of placing yoga and meditation on an upper pedestal in student's life. These two have been
recognized as a great enabling force to develop positivity and prosperity in life, further leading to
optimism and confidence. Keeping in mind, the important role played by these activities, here at
Jagannath University has been inculcated in daily life of both students and staff.
Laboratories
The University has well equipped labs for each School of Studies for teaching purpose and research. Students use resources of the laboratories to solve problems, perform developmental experiments and work on projects guided by faculty. By granting longer hour’s lab facility and access to the network from each class room and lecture theatre, information is made easily accessible from any point within the campus. The experiments are designed to provide deeper understanding of phenomenon, facts and fabrication/assembling of equipment from components to get hands-on experience. The drudgery of repetitive measurements is reduced by shift forwards micro computer based laboratory which allows the detailed analysis and interpretation of acquired data for our students.
Auditorium
A fully air cooled, acoustically designed auditorium is housed in the premises along with a seating capacity of 500 persons. It is a hub of cultural events and formal events in the university.
Cafeteria
An informal place for discussion and refreshment, not only provides a vibrant atmosphere and unleaded fuel for
the day but also put forth a new method of knowledge sharing called the "Cafeteria approach".
It is an innovative and informal method of learning where one can debate, discuss and deliberate over
a cup of coffee and thereby actively nurture one’s interpersonal skills. A well furnished and spacious
Cafeteria is located in the heart of the campus. It provides all type of nutritious and hygienic eatables
and beverages to cater to the multi-ethnic tastes of students, staff and visitors.
Class Rooms
We believe that teaching is not just loading the students with lectures and lessons. It is
more about increasing the students' comprehension level through various interesting methods and tools.
The Classrooms provide the most conducive atmosphere for dynamic and focused discussion.
They have been designed to bring together analysis with action and are augmented by well
equipped facilities. Each classroom has Internet connectivity.
The Classrooms are equipped with multimedia and audio-visual equipment to facilitate effective
learning and they are designed to promote maximum interaction between the faculty and the students.
Classroom learning is intense and interactive where students learn latest technologies, tools and
knowledge to face the challenges in, rapidly changing world. The concepts taught in class form the
basis, while actual learning occurs through interaction between faculty and students.
The teaching learning process is carried out through the use of overhead and LCD projectors.
These help the students in understanding real world corporate situations and prepare them
for the battle that lies ahead.
The student faculty interface enhances an atmosphere that is intellectually stimulating,
leading to a thriving academic temper.
Conference Room
The University has a large conference room which is well equipped with state-of-art audio-visual
and presentation tools to facilitate presentations. All formal sessions and interface
with experts from corporate and other stakeholders take place in this hall.
