Elementary School Support
Middle School Support
Individualized Support
Students are supported by:
Small student-teacher ratios
Classroom support plans with accommodations for individual learning needs
Teachers trained in the Orton-Gillingham reading approach in every classroom
A structured literacy program grounded in the science of reading with direct instruction from pre-K4 through grade 4
Some teachers trained in Orton-Gillingham–informed math instruction
A dedicated elementary learning specialist who pushes into classrooms and works with small groups in reading, writing and math
A weekly problem-solving meeting with teachers, the learning specialist, counselor and the elementary head
Rich, inquiry-based learning that builds critical-thinking skills
Some students also work with outside providers—such as tutors, speech-language pathologists, or occupational therapists. These services are family-funded and may be scheduled on campus during the school day with school approval.
We believe intelligence and potential have many dimensions. Neurodiversity broadens perspective, strengthens critical thinking, and fuels creativity for everyone.
Support structures include:
Learning Lab: Dedicated time during the school day to work on assignments with guidance from the academic support teacher
Practicum: An alternative for students who opt out of world language (Spanish) to focus on targeted skill-building and to catch up on classwork or homework as needed
Counseling: Individual and small-group support focused on stress management, social skills and healthy habits
Student Skills class: Instruction for all students in executive-function skills such as organization, time management, study strategies and note-taking
Bridges (grade 6): Transition supports that build study habits and routines specific to middle school
Student support plans: Clear goals, accommodations and classroom strategies tailored to each student’s profile
Assistive technology: Access to tools that support reading, writing and math
