Center for Worker Education Library: About City College Downtown Satellite Campus About Opening Hours Contact Library Resources Using the CWE Library CWE Student Resources Media Resources New York Resources Non Library Authoritative Resources CWE History Center for Worker Education (CWE) Library The CWE Library caters for 550 students enrolled at the CCNY satellite campus at 25 Broadway offering three undergrad degree programs | BS  Early Childhood Education | BA  Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences | BA Social Justice and Urban Life. One MA program is on offer | The Study of the Americas with two more fully online MAs being added in Fall 2026. CWE Library specializes in rapid response and detailed one-on-one assistance. CWE (timeline is here) was founded in 1981 by organized labor and City College and was designed to serve working adults by having classes in the evenings and on Saturdays. The ethos of the Center is pro-worker and pro-social justice. The student body is 80% female and 80% from minority populations. The full time library service started in 2008.
