Administrative Fee:
An administrative fee of $200 will be assessed for each Superload request submitted to ALEA.
Hourly Rate
: The hourly rate for Superload escorts will be $100 per hour, per officer with a 4-hour minimum. Billing time starts 30 prior to scheduled escort time and ends 30 minutes after escort is completed.
Mileage:
ALEA will assess a mileage fee using the current Internal Revenue Service rate. ALEA will assess all mileage associated with the completion of the escort, (driveway to driveway).
Per Diem / Subsistence:
ALEA will assess a per diem and/or subsistence fee for each officer assigned as follows:
$12.00 subsistence for any escort that takes over 4 hours to complete.
$12.75 per diem for any escort that takes between 6-12 hours to complete.
$34.00 per diem for any escort that takes 12 hours or more to complete.
Cancelations:
Any Superload escort canceled more than 24 hours before the agreed and scheduled start time
will be assessed a $200 cancelation fee.
Any Superload escort canceled less than 24 hours before the agreed and scheduled start time
will be assessed, (1) a $200 cancelation fee and (2) 4 hours pay per ALEA officer assigned to
the escort.
In order to schedule a law enforcement escort, an application for an ALDOT permit must be completed and a reference number assigned. Once the reference number is obtained, complete, sign and submit the

ALEA-Superload@alea.gov
and you will be contacted to coordinate the escort.
