Some information is supplied only in PDF format with no alt text or tagging. This fails WCAG 3.1.1 success criterion. Since 2020, all documents in PDF format should have a Word doc or Excel sheet equivalent. The CookieBot button has a focus issue when using the keyboard to tab through the pop up box. This fails WCAG 1.4.3 success criterion. This is listed under our disproportionate burden summary. Focus is not clear once the search box opens, and the focus is not easily visible on the pause button and orange links. This fails WGAC 2.4.7 success criterion.  We are currently working with our website agency to resolve this issue before December 2022. Disproportionate burden Some of our interactive forms are difficult to navigate using a keyboard. For example, because some form controls are missing a ‘label’ tag. Interactive controls like buttons and links have child elements which are not focusable. This is because the child elements are not announced by screen readers, but they still appear in the tab order, making it harder to navigate. Some information is supplied only in PDF format with no alt text or tagging. The CookieBot pop up box does not have focus when using a keyboard to tab through the buttons. The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services. Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards. Live video We do not plan to add captions to live video streams because live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations What we’re doing to improve accessibility The University of Chichester sees digital accessibility as a continual improvement, and will consistantly review all areas of the website to ensure all users can access and use the website correctly.
