Mpox (Human Monkeypox Virus)
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are spread from person-to-person through sexual contact. STIs are common and can affect anyone who is sexually active. Many STIs don't cause symptoms, so you might not know that you have one.
There are ways to prevent STIs including using condoms, getting vaccinated when available, and regular testing. Resources and services are available to protect your sexual health. We also work closely with partners to offer specialized HIV care for prevention, testing, treatment, and ongoing care.
Information for health care providers is also on this page.

Community Advisory and Planning
The Vermont Department of Health’s HIV Community Advisory Group (CAG) helps guide HIV prevention, care, and treatment services in Vermont. The group is made up of people with lived experience and professionals working in HIV and viral hepatitis prevention and care, especially from communities most affected. The CAG plays an important role in shaping priorities and strategies of Vermont’s statewide Integrated Plan. Updated every five years, the plan outlines the state’s approach to preventing new HIV infections and improving care for people living with HIV.
