What Happens Next?
After submitting an application, there are 5 steps that are potentially necessary before starting your course in September.

Many important updates, deadlines and next steps will be sent via email. Be sure to check your inbox (and junk folder) frequently to avoid missing crucial information.

Receive an offer
Once you’ve applied, you’ll receive an email with your
Application Confirmation
and
Offer
, so be sure to check your inbox and accept your place as soon as possible.
All applicants awaiting GCSE results will be given a conditional offer for a course at College, based on their predicted grades. During enrolment, when applicants have received their actual grades, we will review each application on a case-by-case basis to ascertain the most appropriate course level for you.
Attend Taster Day
If you
accept your offer
, you’ll be invited to attend our
Taster Day
– a full-day experience designed to support your transition from school to college. It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet fellow students, test your bus route and immerse yourself in college life for a day.
Keep an eye on your emails for your invitation and further details!
Summer Assignment
Some courses require you to complete a summer assignment before you start your course. It is important you take care to complete this as instructed as it may impact your enrolment on to the course.
Transport and Financial Support
During the summer holidays, we’ll send you details on how to
apply and pay for
College Transport
online
, including options for Peterborough College.
If you need financial assistance with a bus pass, you may be eligible for support, and full details will be provided in your email. If your course requires
specific uniforms, equipment or materials
, financial help may also be available to cover these costs. Eligible applicants can apply for assistance to ensure they have everything needed to start their studies.

Enrolment
In the summer, you’ll get another email inviting you to complete your
online pre-enrolment
—don’t forget to check your spam or junk folder just in case.
After that, you’ll be given a date and time to come into college to
complete your enrolment in person
. Once enrolled, you’ll receive your
student ID badge, timetable and key details
about your first day.Content

Don’t worry!
We have a very effective ‘settling in’ programme that we have been developing over a number of years which ensures you are monitored carefully and supported appropriately whilst transitioning from school to college. This includes support such as (but not limited to):
Allowing you to change courses if you change your mind (subject to availability).
Moving you between course levels if you are finding your current level too easy/too hard (subject to availability).
In some cases, incorporating English and maths
GCSE
into your timetable if you don’t meet the grades you need.
Providing access to additional learning support should you need extra support in the classroom or assessment for learning resources.
Regular meetings with your Student Mentor, who will get to know you and ensure you are happy and engaged with your course.
One-to-one reviews with your academic tutor to discuss your progress
You will be receiving information over the summer holidays inviting you to attend enrolment at the end of August.
When you accept your offer, you’ll be invited to

We are a team of friendly, dedicated support staff who work in partnership with tutors to enable you to receive support to complete your studies. You can request support on the application, on enrolment or when you’re on course via the student hub or tutor.
We’ve had an exceptionally high number of applications this year. Many of our courses are now full or close to capacity.
If you apply from the
16th June
, your application will be placed on hold and treated as a late application. Here’s what that means:
You won’t be invited to attend a Taster Day event.
Your application will be reviewed after our main enrolment period ends in August.
If a space becomes available on your chosen course, we’ll contact you directly.
You may be invited to enrol during our main enrolment event, starting Thursday 21 August.
Some courses are extremely popular and may not have any spaces left.
In the meantime:
