As the most northerly partner of the University of the Highlands and Islands, we provide a single point of contact for tertiary education, commercial training and research in Shetland.
We offer inspirational learning, influential training, and innovative research in the heart of Shetland’s community.

Our friendly and approachable Student Support Team offers advice and guidance at different times during your studies at UHI Shetland. This could be for a number of reasons, including:

UHI Shetland offers a wide range of consultancy services and training to business both in and beyond Shetland.
We offer a range of professionally accredited training and development courses for industry. We can work with employers to identify training needs, tackle potential skills shortages and training to support new or existing employees.
Vocational training and apprenticeships are supported by UHI Shetland in a wide range of specialisms.
With many years of experience supporting fishing and aquaculture, we understand the needs of the industry. We have a range of facilities such as vessels and marine hatchery available for commercial hire.

UHI Shetland boasts a wide multidisciplinary research capacity. Inspired by Shetland’s land, sea and culture, our researchers undertake innovative research activities.
