BS Fine Arts, Course Overview
Fine Arts course is an amalgamation of array of sub disciplines in art that can teach the students explore and master different techniques and mediums of drawing and painting,  transferable skills, good communication skills, research skills, digital literacy in their own discipline, dexterity in treating art mediums and team work skills to say the least, all those capabilities that help the students to turn into proficient professionals and researchers and enhance their prospects of employability.
Teaching Methodology
The course shall be a combination of various methods including lectures, workshops, seminars, field trips, tutorials and group discussions using audio visual aids. The teacher will only discuss the basic of the concerned topic with pupil subsequently guiding them how to collect, recognize and interpret remaining information.
Evaluation Method
The courses are designed for better understanding of the subject. Concerned teacher will be responsible for the method of evaluation. A criterion will be set for the evaluation. There will be a separate evaluation system for assignments, presentations and essay writing as per HEC requirements. Student learning will be evaluated with efforts to assess at every level, from group assignments to the individual assignment. System use a variety of methods to inquire into our students learning experiences, relying on both direct and indirect measures, and using both quantitative and qualitative methods. System is abide by a principle of transparency in assessment to ensure confidence
Objectives of BS Fine Arts
Familiarize with the historical contexts for artistic and cultural heritage.
Develop art historical skills, critical inquiry and independent analytical thinking in the discipline of Fine Arts.
Relate, compare and contrast the major painting styles that emerged in art traditions.
Understand the work of art in relationship to the societies in which they were created and be able to discuss the cultural, geographical, philosophical, political and social factors that contribute to their creation.
Prepare students to be effective educators who contribute to the curriculum of contemporary institutes.
Develop the ability to translate research and practice.
Develop contemporary artistic skills to use their imagination and observation to create works of art.
Effectively express concepts in solid and presentable form.
Skillfully create artistic forms using different techniques and methods appropriate for the works of art.
Understand the meaning of work of arts in the contemporary art world.
Develop understanding of current professional standards in their chosen fields of contemporary art as well as the ability to meet the standards.
Being a professional artist, it will develop artistic ability to focus on their individual art practice and ideas to continue to learn and implement over the length of their career.

Learner will be ready for careers in the creative industry as studio artists, illustrators, interactive- media practitioners, gallery administrators, art critics and/ or researchers.
Scope
After successful completion of the course, the students will be able to transfer knowledge in various areas of Fine Arts. The curriculum would enable the students to interact with the world, their past and present, through the art that was created over centuries.  Learning through this curriculum would mean learning about skills, instructional education, social, religious, political and cultural history and contemporary ways to approach research in multifarious fields of art. Students can find their ways in the practical field as painters, designers, art historians, art critics, teachers, research advisors, entrepreneurs. They can find job placements with educational institutes, art galleries, museums, governmental and semi government organizations to name a few.

Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the BS Fine Arts are as follows:
Candidates must have completed their (intermediate or equivalent) education with a minimum of 45% marks from a recognized board / as per university policy.
In addition to the academic qualifications, prospective students are required to take the University’s entrance exams, which consist of aptitude and drawing tests.
Academic Record 70%
Entry Test 20%
Interview 10%
(50% passing marks for both test and interview are mandatory to qualify)
*(Eligibility Criteria may be changed as per the Admission Committee of UHE).

Single Major with One Minor: An undergraduate/equivalent degree program with a Single major and one minor is focused on one disciplinary specialization and one Secondary but supporting concentration and comprises of a minimum of 132 credit hours Including the requirements of field experience/internship and capstone project. The Breakup of credit hours is as under:
General education courses: 32 credit hours
Major: minimum 72 credit hours
Interdisciplinary/allied courses: minimum 12 credit hours
Minor: minimum 12 credit hours
Field experience/internship: 03 credit hours
Capstone project: 03 credit hours
Note:
Minor will be offered subject to the approval of the relevant statutory body upon the recommendation of the concerned department.

Q1. Is the University of Home Economics (UHE) degree recognized?
Yes, UHE is a public sector university, and all degrees are recognized by Higher Education Commission, Islamabad.
Q2. How long is the duration for BS Degree programs?
Four (04) years/eight Semesters
Q3. From where can I obtain the prospectus, admission forms and challan forms
?

Q4. Are there any specific quotas in admissions?
Yes, visit page 55 of the prospectus 2022.
Q5. How many programs can I apply to?
A candidate can apply to as many degree programs as she may deem fit.
Q6. What is the admission processing fee for each application?
Rs 1000/-
Q7. What is the last date and mode of submission for admission forms?
The last date of submission of admission forms will be 31
st
October, and they can be submitted via hand.
Q8. What criteria is set for applicants who missed the documents (e.g., Fee Challan, Admission Forms, Matric / inter result etc.?
The applicants must submit their missing documents by 31
st
October positively otherwise application forms with missing documents will not be entertained.
Q9. Are there any Scholarship programs available?
Ehsaas program by HEC, UHE need based scholarship, UHE merit-based scholarship are available.
Q10. Who can apply for scholarships?
All students admitted are eligible for scholarships as per criteria.
Q11. Are there any provisions for students applying in UHE from outside of Lahore to have hostel facility in University of Home Economics?
Yes, the hostel facility is available on first come first serve basis.
Q12. Do you offer weekend classes?
No.
Q13. Is there a fee refund policy?
Yes, the fee can be refunded within one week of the commencement of classes.
Q14. What if I want to migrate to another program?
As per HEC Policy, you can migrate from one program to another only once.
