Hands on Learning
Selected Grade 5/6 students have the opportunity to engage in the school’s Hands on Learning Program (HoL) one day per week.
HoL is a school program that builds wellbeing, engagement, and attendance by creating opportunities for students to discover their talents and experience success through significant and authentic hands-on projects.
Our current focus is working in and around our school’s edible garden. Students will learn to care for and maintain the garden and cultivate fruits and vegetable. Together with this student will learn cooking skills and share meals together.
The fundamental elements of Hands on Learning:
a place to belong
real things to do
a chance to give back build the wellbeing platform for young people to grow in confidence, engage and achieve at school.
