An original school. Made for originals.
At Preshil, we do education differently, because one size fits none.
For nearly 100 years, we’ve cultivated a school where difference is welcomed, individuality is supported, and students grow into themselves, not someone else’s idea of who they should be.
KINDERGARTEN
Our Kindergarten is where learning begins with joy, curiosity and a deep connection to the world around them. It’s designed to support curiosity, imagination and early independence. Through hands-on, play-based learning and strong relationships, children begin to develop the sense of community that carries them through their entire time at Preshil.
PRIMARY SCHOOL
At our Arlington campus, learning is built around deep relationships between educators and children who explore ideas that matter to them, working on imaginative, real-world projects in a warm environment that encourages creative thinking, collaboration and self-direction from the earliest years.
SECONDARY SCHOOL
At Blackhall, young people have the freedom and support to shape their own learning pathways. Whether they pursue IB, VCE, VM or VET, they’re guided to think critically, act with integrity, and engage with the world as thoughtful, independent learners, well prepared for life beyond school.
At Preshil, learning isn’t top-down. It’s co-created—shaped by a community of students, educators and families who share ownership of the space and culture we build together.
Students are recognised both for who they are and the community they are part of. Educators are attuned and responsive to each learner and to the group as a whole. With team teaching, small class sizes and a culture built on trust, relationships come first. That’s how we create a learning environment where students feel safe to take on real challenges, explore their interests and grow in meaningful ways.
From Kindergarten to Year 12, our programs are built to be flexible to each student’s strengths, interests and pace of learning. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all pathways. Instead, students help shape what and how they learn, guided by educators who adapt to them, not a rigid curriculum. Whether secondary students pursue the International Baccalaureate (IB), VCE, VET or the VCE Vocational Major (VM), Preshil students have the opportunity to grow in ways that build confidence, real capability and meaningful academic success.
We are proudly independent, non-sectarian and community-centred. Every student is part of something bigger—a culture of trust, openness and mutual respect. At Preshil, your child is supported to grow into who they already are—with confidence, curiosity and a sense of purpose.
With a school as original as ours, every student is free to be original too.
