ABOUT US
Since our school's founding in 1999, we at Pioneer Academy have worked endlessly to establish a tradition of excellence and integrity, while continuously knitting a tapestry of accomplishment and impact in rigorous and ethics-driven college-preparatory education of students from Pre-K to the 12th grade.
Pioneer serves as a school of tomorrow and a portal of personal and community discovery that prepares our students as future leaders in their fields, agents of change, impactful innovators, and empathetic creators that will matriculate into the most selective universities for challenging programs of study. At the same time, we are very much a school of today, with eyes firmly focused on the diverse perspectives, demands, and rich possibilities of the present.
With great enthusiasm, I am thus delighted to share with you that Pioneer remains in tremendous shape despite our world’s evolving pressures and landscape. Our college admissions results have been extraordinary, with Pioneer consistently placing its graduates into the best universities in the nation, from Princeton and Harvard to Barnard College of Columbia University and Brown. Our faculty and programs in academics, extracurricular enrichment, and local and global service immersion have been rated highly by parents and students. Our students and alumni have consistently shared their appreciation for the leadership, critical thinking skills, and humble yet enthusiastic and powerful confidence they developed at Pioneer, recalling their Pioneer education and experiences as transformational, close-knit, and joyful.
As you begin to discover all that we have to offer, my sincere wish is that you will reach out with any questions about Pioneer Academy, a school of tremendous possibilities for our engaged community of students who are in the process of becoming and flourishing into tomorrow’s leaders, today.
Just as I am inspired by and honored to contribute to the growth, richness, and success of Pioneer Academy and its community––I sincerely hope that you and your family are as well.
With gratitude,

Owen O. Akman,
Head of School
Parent, Class of 2022, 2024 and 2031
