Choir - Eastside Catholic School | Private 6-12 in Seattle area Choir Singing together, growing together. The Eastside Catholic Middle School and High School Choirs play a significant role in school events. Choirs perform for school concerts, assemblies, liturgies, choir festivals, contests and in the community. The choir is open to all students in grades 6–12, regardless of experience or skill level. At EC, our program is unique—every sixth grader has the opportunity to participate in choir as part of their curriculum, with the option to continue through middle school and into high school. Community The Choir Program is as much about community as it is about music. Any ensemble can win trophies and sing at concerts, but EC choir students are uniquely dedicated to the program and each other. They stay at school late rehearsing, helping one another, helping the teacher, working on their music and more. They give so much of themselves to the program, and in return, grow enormously. Competitions Both the Middle School and High School choirs have participated in yearly competitions at Silverwood and Disneyland and received superior, overall, soloist and first-place awards. They have also had the opportunity to collaborate with other collegiate choral programs, such as Gonzaga University and Western Washington University. Middle School Band and Choir Shine at Silverwood Music Festival On May 9-11, middle school band and choir students traveled to Idaho to perform in the Music in the Parks Silverwood Festival. Music Students in Top Form at Regional Solo and Ensemble Festival The Eastside Catholic Choir, Band and Orchestra had a strong showing at the High School Regional Solo and Ensemble Music Contest held at Redmond High School on February 8-9. Middle School Band and Choir Dominate Music in the Parks 2023-24 On May 10-12, middle school band and choir students traveled to Idaho to perform in the Music in the Parks Silverwood Festival. High School Choir Performs at Catholic Schools Choir Festival Our high school choir students participated in the annual Catholic Schools Choir Festival on Monday, February 5, at Benaroya Hall in Seattle. EC High School Choir Participates in The Great Figgy Pudding Caroling Competition The EC high school choir participated in The Great Figgy Pudding Competition, raising funds for those in need. Choir Students Perform at Youth Eastside Services (YES) Event On May 19, some of our choir students attended and performed at the annual fundraiser event for Youth Eastside Services (YES). Middle School Band and Choir Earn Honors at Music in the Parks Silverwood Festival Seventh and eighth grade band and choir students traveled to Idaho to perform at the Music in the Parks Silverwood festival on May 6-8 to compete against seven other schools from Washington, Idaho and Montana. Choir Participates in Festival with Renowned Composer On February 6-7, the Eastside Catholic choir members participated in a festival with Seattle Prep and Bellarmine Prep.
