Glenaeon offers a range of scholarships to new and existing students across selected year groups in Primary and High School.
Our Scholarship program reflects the School’s commitment to attracting and nurturing students of high potential and strong character, while ensuring that the distinctive Glenaeon educational experience remains as financially accessible as possible.
A scholarship at Glenaeon represents a mutual commitment. It offers students and their families the opportunity to experience the depth and richness of a Glenaeon education, while enabling the School to welcome students who will contribute positively to the life of the community.

Scholarship Types
Glenaeon is an independent, co-educational school offering Preschool to Year 12 education,
inspired by Steiner education and grounded in academic and creative excellence.
Thanks to the generous support of donors to the Glenaeon Foundation Scholarship Fund, Glenaeon Rudolf Steiner School offers a means-tested scholarship to students who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend our school.
This scholarship is named in honour of our founder, Ms Sylvia Brose OAM. Recipients reflect the Glenaeon ethos of inspired learning, artistic sensibility, and service to others. They demonstrate well-rounded capabilities and a strong commitment to personal and community growth.
Means Testing
As part of the application process, families are required to submit financial information to determine eligibility. This information will be handled with the strictest confidence and in accordance with the requirements outlined in the application form.
Primary School Entry (Kindergarten – Class 6)
Scholarships for Primary School entry are awarded on the basis of:
Completed
scholarship application form
and payment of scholarship application fee of $150
Successful interview with parents and child
A commitment to the school’s ethos and Glenaeon’s core values of Integrity, Wisdom, Courage and Heart.
Two recent school reports
Families with an understanding of Steiner education principles in the Glenaeon context, who also meet the financial eligibility criteria, are strongly encouraged to apply.
Year 7 Entry
Scholarships for entry into Year 7 are awarded based on the following criteria:
Completed
scholarship application form
and payment of scholarship application fee of $150
Academic performance, as reflected in two recent school reports and student work
A handwritten letter by the student, of no more than two A4 pages outlining their interests: give some details about activities in which they have been involved over the past two years and why they enjoy them.
Results of an assessment conducted at Glenaeon and successful interview
Demonstrated strength in at least two of the following areas:
Music
Visual Arts
Drama
Sport
Service
Wilderness activities
Commitment to Glenaeon’s core values of Integrity, Wisdom, Courage and Heart.
Scholarships for entry into Year 7 are awarded based on the following criteria:
Completed
scholarship application form
and payment of scholarship application fee of $150
Academic performance, as reflected in two recent school reports and student work
A handwritten letter by the student, of no more than two A4 pages outlining their interests: give some details about activities in which they have been involved over the past two years and why they enjoy them.
Results of an assessment conducted at Glenaeon and successful interview
Demonstrated strength in school achievement.
Scholarships for entry into Year 7 awarded to an outstanding musician based on the following criteria:
Completed
scholarship application form
and payment of scholarship application fee of $150
A good pass in AMEB or equivalent exams at the following levels:
Piano: Grade 6
Strings: Grade 5
Brass/Woodwind: Grade 3
Orchestral Percussion: Two years prior tuition.
Academic performance, as reflected in two recent school reports and student work
A handwritten letter by the student, of no more than two A4 pages outlining their interests: give some details about activities in which they have been involved over the past two years and why they enjoy them.
Results of an assessment conducted, a music audition, and successful interview
Scholarships for entry into Year 11 are awarded based on the following criteria:
Completed
scholarship application form
and payment of scholarship application fee of $150
Academic performance, as reflected in Year 10 reports and a CV of interests and achievements.
A handwritten letter by the student, of no more than two A4 pages outlining their interests: give some details about activities in which they have been involved over the past two years and why they enjoy them.
A Curriculum Vitae (one page) outlining the applicant’s interests, activities and achievements over the past two years.
Results of an assessment conducted at Glenaeon and successful interview
Selection and Confidentiality
Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Head of School, in consultation with the Glenaeon Board’s Scholarship and Bursary Committee. All applications and decisions are treated with the strictest confidentiality.
Application Deadlines
Scholarships are now open. Application closing dates:
High School Scholarships for 2027 are now closed.
Primary School Scholarships are now open and processed upon application.
High School Scholarships open for 2028 on 14th October 2026 and close on 26th February 2027.
Scholarship interviews are conducted during May and June each year. Families are notified of outcomes in writing by the end of June.

Families wishing to apply for a Glenaeon scholarship are asked to follow the steps outlined below. Please ensure all required documentation is submitted by the relevant closing date.
Complete the Scholarship Application Form and pay the non-refundable fee of $150.

For applicants to the Sylvia Brose Scholarships, parents may be asked prior to an interview being offered to submit copies of the three most recent tax returns for both parents.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to proceed to the next stage of the process.
Interviews and Assessments
Interviews and, where appropriate, student assessments are conducted during this stage.
Notification of Outcome
Successful applicants are notified by email and telephone.
