New Student Orientation and Welcome Week
Due to inclement weather and hazardous travel conditions, the school will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026.
Fall 2026 EU Launch
August 14-18
From the moment you arrive on campus, you will have so many opportunities to learn about and become part of this special EU community. Whether you’re a freshman or a transfer student, EU Launch, our five-day New Student Orientation and Welcome Week program, intentionally equips you academically, spiritually, and socially to be successful in your college journey ahead.
Current student leaders called Launch Leaders will be ready to welcome you and facilitate Launch Groups of 15-20 new students. These small orientation groups provide a landing place for new students and, in many cases, fast friendships.
EU Launch is packed with activities for new students and their family members. Check out the full schedule below.

Valor One: First Year Experience
After EU Launch is over, your Freshman Experience continues with your University Seminar course and with Community Life experiences. You will have opportunities to engage with your fellow students throughout the first semester with special events targeted specifically for connecting you with the Evangel community. During these journeys, you will interact with other new students, discuss common interests and acclimation challenges, and learn strategies for success with the goal of graduation!
University Seminar
University Seminar is a one-credit class that is part of the Core Curriculum for all students. It is specially designed to help you prepare for your Evangel experience. In this class, you are introduced to Evangel’s Christ-centered, integrational, exploratory, and global perspectives. You will learn to use and participate in campus-wide and department-specific offerings.
On Tuesdays, you will meet in major-specific seminars to build relationships with other students and professors in your chosen department.
On Thursdays, all new students will meet together in Spence Chapel to learn and discuss topics such as Personal Management, Spiritual Life, Mental Health, Strengths, and Relationship Management. Student leaders will facilitate conversations between members of your EU Launch Group, which extends throughout the semester.
During both University Seminar experiences, you’ll learn the ins and outs of successful campus living and learning. We believe in preparing you not only for a career but also for life.
