Whether you’re performing in a classic production or a fun musical, singing your heart out in the spotlight or working the lightboard, Garrison Forest School offers opportunities for students in each division to explore theater and enhance artistic self-expression.
Upper School
Middle School
Lower School & Preschool
Upper School students of all experience levels can participate in the co-curricular theater program. Main stage productions take place in the 400-seat Garland Theater, with opportunities for both performers and technical crew to work with professional lighting and sound. Students in the Fall Play or Spring Musical may earn arts credit, and all are eligible to join the International Thespian Society, honoring achievement in theater arts.
Middle School students have the opportunity to audition for the Winter Musical, which is held each year in Garland Theater. All technical aspects of the Middle School musical are also run by students. Additionally, 8th Grade students are invited to participate in the Upper School Musical during the spring and can audition to be in the cast or may choose to participate in the tech crew. Throughout the year, other performance opportunities are shared with students as they arise.
Children from Preschool through 5th Grade enjoy opportunities for performances during special events. Preschool students showcase their talents in an annual Spring Play which is performed in Garland Theater. Students in the Lower School (Kindergarten - 5th Grade) perform for parents and other members of the Garrison Forest community in the Winter and Spring Concerts.
