OBJECTIVE OF THE PROGRAM
Since 2013, the Department of Mathematics at the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology has spearheaded its premier initiative,
"
Young Talent Nurture" (YTN)
. YTN aims to cultivate budding mathematical minds and enhance their logical
reasoning, analytical capabilities, and problem-solving prowess. It also aims to prepare participants to tackle significant challenges in advanced mathematics and its
various application fields. The duration of the program is two weeks and is scheduled from
15th June – 27th June 2026

Abstract Algebra
Differential Equations
Complex Analysis
Analysis and Metric Spaces
ELIGIBILITY FOR PARTICIPATION
Students who have completed 3rd year/6th semester of B.Sc./ Integrated M.Sc. in Mathematics OR Any B.Sc./B.Tech./Integrated BS-
MS/ Integrated M.Sc. with sufficiant Mathematics courses.
HOW TO APPLY
Students are requested to apply online through the link:

. Please note that filling up contact details (preferably email) of a Mathematics Professor with whom
the applicant is closely acquainted is mandatory.

SELECTION OF CANDIDATES
The selection will be purely on merit, based on academic record and the letter of
recommendation.
Only selected candidates will be intimated.
Selected Candidates will be provided free boarding and lodging for the entire
duration of the programme.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Mathematics, IIST is offereing Ph.D program and an M.Tech
program in Machine Learning and Computing. Apart from these, the Department
is offering courses for the UG and PG programs offered by other departments.
Presently, there are eleven faculty members in the department, working in the research areas: Mathematical Control Theory; Suspension Rheology;
Partial Differential Equations; Differential Geometry and its Applications; Applied
Probability and Stochastic Processes; Numerical Solutions to Fluid Dynamics;
Computational Partial Differential Equations; Numerical Solutions to Partial
Differential Equations; Commutative Algebra; Machine Learning Algorithms and
Applications: Control and Inverse Problems.
