Our Appeals
Your Places Appeal
Over 300 of our treasured sites are free for everybody to explore and enjoy.
But free to enter doesn't mean free to maintain. It costs over
£4.2 million
a year to care for these special places - and that's why we need your help.
Please donate today to help protect them for tomorrow.
DONATE NOW
Help support your free-to-enter sites
DONATE £35 TO HELP REPAIR A BUILDING
A donation of £35 could help pay for an hour of a stonemason's time to repair part of an ancient building.
DONATE £60 TO HELP RESTORE A LANDSCAPE
A donation of £60 could help maintain a historic landscape by carrying out tasks from mowing to weeding, and from planting to tidying.
DONATE £80 TO HELP CARE FOR A SPECIAL PLACE
A donation of £80 could help repair a section of medieval roof, keeping the site safe for the public.
Free to enter. Not free to maintain.
From sprawling Iron Age forts to tiny medieval chapels, our free-to-enter sites are irreplaceable. They’re a part of our communities, and of our nation. They belong to each and every one of us – and they belong to you.
But sadly, they face many threats - from the destructive impacts of climate change and rising costs to damage caused by constant wear and tear.
This is why your donation today is so important.
Not just to help care and pay for vital conservation, but so these places can continue creating precious memories for generations to come.
From brisk dog walks to life-changing talks, these places are yours. What will you give to protect them?
Whether your donation today helps pay for the work of an expert stonemason, a key keeper’s time to unlock the gates or the restoration of a rare artefact, you’ll help care for precious heritage.
Above all, you’ll help create more irreplaceable moments. A marriage proposal beneath an ancient tower. Grandchildren playing in a Tudor garden.
Remembering a loved one as the sun sets on a historic landscape. These places, these moments, are yours.
Please donate today to protect them for tomorrow.
