Visiting Hours
Visiting hours are 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday – Friday; and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekends and major holidays.
Please follow the guidelines below when visiting to ensure the safety of all patients and guests.
Visitor Illness
All visitors should be free from infection, illness and communicable disease.
Children
Visitation of children under the age of 14 is discouraged, due to exposure of both the child and patient to communicable diseases.
Children MUST be accompanied by an adult at all times. This includes the waiting room, hallways and patient rooms.
Cell Phone Use
For the consideration of patients and visitors, we ask that all phones be put on silent or vibrate mode upon entry to the building.
Food and Drink
Food and drink is discouraged in rooms because of the risk of foodborne illness. All food brought into patient rooms must be in disposable containers and consumed immediately.
Please dispose of all leftover food, beverage items and containers in a proper receptacle.
Methodist Jennie Edmundson Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Visitation Guidelines
Visitation Policy
Please limit visitors to 2 or 3 at a time.
All visitors should be free from infection, illness or communicable disease.
Congregating outside patient rooms or at the nurse’s station is not allowed. Visitors will be asked to use waiting areas.
Overnight Visitation Stays
Visiting family members may be able to stay in the ICU patient room or waiting room.
Arrangements can be made with the ICU staff.
Getting Updates
For clear and consistent patient updates, please designate one family member for staff to communicate with.
Children
Please discuss with staff if you feel visitation is necessary.
For safety, children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Food and Beverage
Food in ICU patient rooms is discouraged. Beverages with lids are allowed.
Cell Phone Use
Please set all cell phones to silent or vibrate mode when in the ICU.
Prohibited Items
No fresh flowers, plants or latex balloons are allowed in ICU patient rooms.
Please note:
ICU staff reserves the right to alter or restrict the visitation guidelines to ensure the safety of all patients, visitors and staff members.
Cafeteria and Gift Shop
Visitors are encouraged to stay in the patients’ rooms and waiting areas, but may access the cafeteria locations and gift shop.
