Transformational Giving
Every child deserves compassionate care—help us reach them
Your generosity can give hope, care, and support
Canuck Place Children’s Hospice (CPCH) is BC and the Yukon’s pediatric palliative care provider, delivering essential care to children ages 0–19 with life-threatening illness and their families. Our specialized care eases suffering, improves quality of life, and supports children and families to be at home. For families who sadly experience the death of their child, Canuck Place bereavement support cares for them in their grief journey.
The demand for pediatric palliative care continues to rise. In the last decade, there has been a 61% increase in the number of children and families on program needing care. Yet, too many families still struggle without access to the care they need.
Through the generosity of donors, Canuck Place raises over 60% of the funds needed to provide this vital care – but we need to do more.
Our bold goal is to reach every family caring for a child with a life-threatening illness who needs help in BC and the Yukon – so no one walks this journey alone.
With your help, we can reach them. Join us in making this vision a reality.
Together, we can be there with infinite love for finite days.

Capital Improvements
Capital Improvements for Canuck Place Vancouver – Glen Brae Manor
Our Vancouver hospice location, Glen Brae Manor was built in 1910, nestled in the serene neighbourhood of Shaughnessy. When Canuck Place opened in 1995, the city of Vancouver rented the historic mansion to Canuck Place for $1 for a lease of 50 years. Ahead of caring for the very first patient, the 16,000 sq. ft. mansion was refurbished to deliver complex clinical care.
Now approaching 30 years of expert pediatric palliative care, our Vancouver hospice location needs an upgrade to ensure we can continue to meet the growing needs of medically complex children across the province.

Canuck Place Research Initiative
Leading the way in pediatric palliative care
At Canuck Place, we are committed to pediatric palliative care research. Knowledge is powerful and transformational. That’s why Canuck Place is committed creating and sharing knowledge. We collaborate with the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute, and the research lab team meets regularly to review, process, plan, and share pediatric palliative care research projects. Research allows us to provide better care for the children and families at Canuck Place.
The Canuck Place Research Initiative is part of a national, interdisciplinary network of clinicians and researchers. Pediatric palliative care has become an innovative field through the support of Dr. Hal Siden, principal investigator of the Siden Lab; BC Children’s Health Research program, and Canuck Place. We’re grateful to the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and PedPalASCNet for supporting this research since 2004.
The Research Initiative aims to improve the quality of care for children, youth, and their families living with life-threatening conditions, by increasing the capacity of Canuck Place and clinicians to conduct and use pediatric palliative care research.
Your support means further research into providing expert pediatric palliative care, ensuring every child across BC and the Yukon receives the care they need when they need it.
